Wild Jungle Trails Ltd organizes safaris and tours in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Kenya.
Before confirming a safari with us, please read these Booking Terms and Conditions carefully. They explain your responsibilities as a traveller and our responsibilities as your tour operator.
In these terms:
These terms may be updated from time to time when circumstances change.
Please remember that travel conditions and service standards in Africa may be different from those in your home country. Medical facilities, road conditions, safety standards, and other services may vary depending on the destination.
All services provided during your safari are subject to the laws and regulations of the country you are visiting.
To confirm your safari, you must accept our Terms and Conditions and pay a 30% deposit of the total safari price, together with the full cost of any gorilla permits required for your trip.
The remaining balance must be paid at least two months before the safari begins.
If you make your booking within four weeks of your safari starting date, full payment will be required at the time of booking.
Your booking will be considered confirmed once the required payment has been received.
If you need to cancel your safari, please inform us in writing as soon as possible.
Your cancellation becomes effective on the date we receive your written notice. Where possible, your notice should explain the circumstances that have caused you to cancel your trip.
Because we make advance arrangements with lodges, parks, guides, transport providers and other suppliers, cancellation charges apply to cover costs and services that may already have been reserved or paid for.
The following cancellation charges apply to the safari cost:
Cancellation PeriodCancellation Charge101 days or more before departure20% of safari cost61–100 days before departure30% of safari cost46–60 days before departure50% of safari cost16–45 days before departure80% of safari cost0–15 days before departure100% of safari cost
The safari cost refers to the total cost of the safari package, excluding gorilla permits and flights where applicable.
Gorilla and chimpanzee permits in Uganda and Rwanda are 100% non-refundable.
Permit issuance is managed by the relevant authorities, including the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and Rwanda Development Board (RDB).
Air tickets are also 100% non-refundable, where applicable.
There will be no refund for unused services, late arrivals, no-shows or any unused part of a safari once the trip has started.
Where two people book a safari together based on shared accommodation or shared costs and one traveller later cancels, the person who cancels may be responsible for the additional single supplement cost created for the remaining traveller.
Alternatively, both travellers may agree to share the additional cost.
Where the cancellation is caused by circumstances beyond their control, the travellers may also choose to reschedule their safari together to a future date. A trip may be rescheduled up to three times, subject to availability and applicable conditions.
We rarely cancel confirmed safaris and always make every reasonable effort to operate trips as planned.
However, we reserve the right to cancel a safari when circumstances make it necessary.
We will not normally cancel a confirmed safari less than 40 days before departure, unless:
If we cancel your safari for reasons other than non-payment or circumstances beyond our control, we may offer you an alternative safari of a similar standard, where available.
If the alternative safari costs less, we will refund the difference.
If it costs more, you will be required to pay the difference.
Sometimes circumstances beyond our control may prevent us or our suppliers from providing the safari as originally planned.
These circumstances may include:
Where such circumstances occur, we cannot provide compensation or refunds for services affected by events that we could not reasonably predict, prevent or avoid.
Where possible, we will instead offer you the opportunity to postpone or reschedule your safari to a future date when travel is considered safe and practical.
Once we receive the required payment, we will arrange the purchase of your gorilla permits.
Purchasing a gorilla permit does not provide an absolute guarantee that you will see gorillas. However, the chances of seeing them are generally very high.
Local circumstances can sometimes make gorilla trekking impossible at short notice. These may include:
Wild Jungle Trails Ltd cannot accept responsibility for circumstances outside our control that result in gorilla trekking being cancelled.
Any refund relating to a gorilla permit is subject to the decision and policies of the relevant wildlife authority.
Some safari activities involve a natural level of physical challenge or personal risk.
These may include:
By choosing to participate in these activities, you acknowledge that they may involve certain risks.
Travellers are responsible for following the instructions and safety guidance provided by guides, park authorities and activity operators.
We carefully select hotels, lodges and camps that provide comfortable accommodation, suitable facilities, hot water, helpful staff and good value.
Please inform us before your safari about any dietary requirements or special meal requests.
Sometimes circumstances may require us to change the accommodation listed in your itinerary.
Where this happens, we reserve the right to provide alternative accommodation of an equivalent or higher standard where reasonably possible.
All travellers are required to arrange appropriate personal travel insurance before travelling.
Your insurance should provide suitable cover for:
If you intend to participate in higher-risk activities such as white-water rafting or mountaineering, make sure your insurance policy specifically covers those activities.
Travellers should also consider their physical fitness before participating in demanding safari activities or long journeys.
All personal belongings and baggage remain the responsibility of the traveller.
We recommend keeping valuable items, travel documents, money and electronic devices secure throughout your safari.
Wild Jungle Trails Ltd cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings that are lost, damaged or stolen in circumstances outside our control.
We want every traveller to have a comfortable and enjoyable safari.
If you experience a problem during your trip, please report it immediately to your safari guide or Safari Manager so that we have an opportunity to address the issue.
If the matter is not resolved satisfactorily, please submit a written complaint to the Manager or relevant supplier.
Any formal complaint should be submitted no later than 10 days after completing your safari.
Reporting concerns promptly allows us to investigate the matter properly and work towards an appropriate solution.
We make every reasonable effort to provide accurate and up-to-date information about:
