This 3 days Rwanda gorilla safari is a short gorilla trekking safari to Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. This is the only gorilla safari Rwanda destination situated within the Virunga Mountains in north western Rwanda adjacent to Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Virunga National Park of Congo.
In the three days the trip is inclusive of arrival and departure via Kigali International Airport. The trip is private and can be undertaken at any time of the year. On the first day you arrive and spend a night at a preferred hotel then transfer to Volcanoes National Park the next.
After gorilla trekking on the third day, you then transfer back to Kigali International Airport for a departure flight.
Day 1:Arrival and Transfer to Hotel in Kigali

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking Rwanda
On arrival at Kigali International airport, at any time of the day, our Rwanda safari guide will be there to welcome you for the start of your safari. After meeting and greeting, you then embark on the drive an earlier booked accommodation facility where you relax, have dinner and spend the night.

On the second day after breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, you will then transfer together with the guide to the quiet and peaceful town of Ruhengeri. Here you shall make a short tour to the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhundo on stunning scenery. You have Lunch, dinner and spend the night at a booked choice of accommodation.

Drive Time: 3 hours
Early morning, you have breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing. Briefing starts by 8:00am by the park officials on the do’s and don’ts of the gorilla trekking etiquette.
8 individuals are allocated a single gorilla family and they start the trek with the park ranger. Trekking may last about 2-6 hours depending on where the gorillas spent their previous night. After meeting the gorillas, a maximum of 1 hour is spent in their presence as you take your memory pictures.
After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and prepare to transfer to Kigali International Airport for a departure flight.
