Murchison Falls National Park is situated in North Western Uganda, home to several wildlife species including the big four wild game, about 451 bird species including the sought after Shoebill Stork, 76 mammal species and much more.
Murchison Falls National Park is not only a great Uganda wildlife safari destination but the only place a traveler can see the world’s most powerful falls.
The mighty Murchison Falls is formed by the Nile River as it squeezes through a 7 meter (23ft) gorge falling 45m below to what is referred to as the devil’s Cauldron.
Your short Uganda safari in search of the big five game (Buffaloes, Rhinos, Elephants, Lions and Leopards) starts and ends in Kampala – Uganda’s capital.
On the first day of your trip, you are transferred to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. En route to your hotel, you will have an evening game drive.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary then Murchison Falls National Park.
3 Days Murchison Falls Wildlife Safari Uganda – Wild Jungle Trails Uganda Safaris
In the morning as early as 6:00am, your Wild Jungle Trails Uganda safari guide will pick you up from your place of residence in Kampala. On your tour guides’ arrival, you meet and greet then embark on the 282km drive to Murchison Falls National Park. 169km from Kampala you reach Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you tour for an almost 2 hours Rhino tracking experience. This is the only place where Rhinos are conserved in Uganda and you can go Rhino tracking along with the whole family. After Rhino tracking, you have lunch and then embark on a drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Arriving in the evening, you check in and spend the night at an earlier on booked preferred accommodation facility.

Day 2: Undertake a morning game drive, afternoon boat cruise and hike to the top of the falls.
By sunrise, at about 6:00am, your Uganda wildlife tour guide will pick you up for a transfer to the park for a morning game drive. With beautiful sights of the morning sunrise, you head out for the game drive with your safari guide, lasting about 2-4hours. During the game drive, you have chances of seeing wildlife species like Buffaloes, Elephants, Lions, Leopards and the Rothschild Giraffes (the highest population in the world).
After the game drive, you have a lunch break and then transfer to the boat cruise start point for a great 2 hours cruise on the Nile waters. The boat cruise takes cruises past numerous hippopotami down to the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls.
From the bottom of the falls, the hike to the top of the mighty falls starts taking about 1 hour and giving the best chances for beautiful pictures of the falls. Arriving on the top of the thunderous falls, you meet the driver guide for a transfer to your lodging facility.

Day 3: Transfer to the adjacent Budongo forest for chimpanzee trekking and return to Kampala.
On this last day of your 3 days Murchison Falls Wildlife safari, your driver guide will transfer you to the adjacent Budongo forest which is about 47km away. Budongo forest has the highest concentration of Mahogany trees compared to any other forest in the entire East African region. Budongo forest is a good habitat to quite a big number of habituated chimpanzees actually the second best place for a Uganda chimpanzee trekking safari. At Budongo forest, you undertake chimpanzee trekking and then after embark on the drive back to Kampala. Lunch is taken en route.
